The hop is a flight
What does the hop between countries look like?
You still chain countries to find the mystery country. You do not need an account.
A plane takes the hop
Guess a country and a small plane leaves the last stop, follows a curve, and lands on the next one. A short hop stays nearly straight. A longer one arcs, the way a trip looks on a globe.
The plane that parks is the one that flew. It sits on the destination with its nose pointed the way it arrived.
On a long flight, the plane sometimes does a tight loop, as if it overshot, then levels out to land. A hop to a neighbour never does this. Leave the game and come back, and the same path returns, loops included.
Yesterday stays yesterday
Playing a past day uses your local date. If it is already the next day where you are, yesterday still opens yesterday’s puzzle, not today’s. Today still opens the live game. Hints stay on days that are actually over.
One screen for a class
You can open Locabulary on one shared screen. 5 minutes on a projector is enough for a warm-up. You can print a handout if you want a longer close.
There is a Country of the Day journal, a geography glossary and a weekly recap. There is also a 5-minute bell-ringer that fits the timetable.
Bug fixes and performance improvements.
